JAY-Z & KANYE WEST - WATCH THE TRONE

JAY-Z & KANYE WEST
WATCH THE TRONE
2011

REVIEW
1. No Church in The Wild (Feat. Frank Ocean): Not feeling this at all...
it's hard not to skip this with such a shitty beat and
not even Jay or Kanye can save it...
and Frank Ocean makes the whole thing even worse...
god-awful and makes me wanna throw up in my own ears. 0/5
2. Lift Off (Feat. BeyoncĂ©): Didn't think anything could be worse
than the first track, but here we have it,one of the most hideous tracks
i ever had to sit through...once and never again...
fucking pisses me off that Mike Dean is part responsible. 0/5
3. Niggas in Paris: Finally an ok track...
nothing major here so no real praise.
And I'm all for switching things up,
but the ending sucks and is pointless. 3.5/5
4. Otis (Feat. Otis Redding): First single and already remixed to death...
ridiculous. But it's a tight song that will get old quick
and will get on ya nerves eventually. 4/5
5. Gotta Have It: OK, now we're talking, a little...sounds like someone
found timbo samples though but it's all good...beat is crazy and
Jay and Ye go off on it. Righteous. 4.5/5
6. New Day: Produced by the RZA,
but sounds more like a Ye track so I'm not that excited.
Still a nice track, but sounds very recycled. 4/5
7. That’s My Bitch: The hook sucks ass too much for this to be good.
Kanye  & Jay go off though. 2.5/5
8. Welcome to The Jungle: Seriously, it just hurts. 0/5
9. Who Gon Stop Me:
Here we go again, someone tell Kanye to give it a rest already. 0/5
10. Murder to Excellence: I guess something's allright with this,
but just not feeling it. 2/5
11. Made In America (Feat. Frank Ocean):
Not Frank Ocean again...fucking annoying beat aswel.
Nothing can save this. 0/5
12. Love You So (Feat. Mr Hudson): Fuck no, it's just too much.
WTF Mike Dean! 0/5
13. Illest Motherfucker Alive (Bonus):
Could've been better, not bad, but kinda annoying 2.5/5
14. H*A*M (Bonus): Failing at pretty much everything here...
the little bridge is pretty sick following the piano solo,
but other than that not banking on the potential.
Jay ain't bad though, but why bother at this stage. 1/5
15. Prime Time: Liking this one except the use of the second snares.
Overtrying to making things different.
Didn't work this time on that, but still a solid track overall...
lovin the piano instrumental part. 4/5
16. The Joy (Feat. Curtis Mayfield) (Bonus):
Finishing the alb with a high, ok.
But too little too late. I'd rather listen to JoJo's album. Pun intended.
The whole album should've been like this track. 4.5/5

You've got Kanye and Jay-Z finally together and given their entire history
one would expect greatness. But sadly it's the opposite.
Only 5 tracks worth mentioning and even nothing there
that tops anything either have done before.
It's a damn shame. But it's a testament
to commercial Hip-Hop nowadays.
Too bad this album falls under that category.
Overall Score: 3/10
