REVIEW
The production from DJ Fresh is so on point with this one.
the whole vibe Fresh has with his beats is so unique, it's
remarkable. With his "The Tonite Show" series you know
Fresh stays busy, and at times it can get too much, but when
he delivers quality like on this project backed up with a
rapper that rips every verse, it's golden. And that's what
Shady Nate provides, gold. I love his whole flow/delivery/hunger.
Dude is raw as fuck and flows like no other. Highly underrated.
This review is really for the first disc but I must say it's great
they combined the two cd's as one release.
Got my copy on ebay on hold now, damn right!
So on with the tracks. from the very first track this just grabs
your attention and regardless if you like a beat or not,
Shady Nate makes you enjoy the fuck outta everything.
"Acorn Part 2" is a prime example of why these 2 work.
There are of course filler type joints, but still nothing bad at all.
The bonus track is one of the best tracks, not sure why it's
a bonus track and untitled. Overall a very solid release and
anyone lovin' The Bay like I do, must have this one.
The 2nd disc and original Based On A True Story is even better,
with some sweet as tracks. "100 Percent", "Ride With Me", "Acorn"
"Blow Ya Mind" and "Livewire" especially come to mind.
Really no bad tracks at all here.
Overall Score: 8.5/10
