EVIDENCE
CATS & DOGS
2011
1. The Liner Notes ft. Aloe Blacc
Great start to the album. Love the beat though Evidence
should've come a little stronger. 3.5/5
2. Strangers
Not feeling the beat as much and Evidence makes
it worse. Sounds too boring overall. 2/5
3. The Red Carpet ft. Raekwon & Ras kass
Wow, Evidence got The Chef to feature. That alone
is mad and of course Rae delivers but it's not enough
to lift this to where you might've expected. 3.5/5
4. It Wasn't Me
Not sure about this one, but I'm bumping my head
and Ev does keep me hooked. 4/5
5. I Don't Need Love
Great sample but a lil repetitive maybe?
The hook is lackluster as some of the rhyming 3.5/5
6. You
The video is sick and so is the song. DJ Premier
and Evidence make me think of Jeru Tha Damaja. 4/5
7. God Bless That Man
8. Fame
The beat nor Evidence make me excited but
somehow this joint is illler than it really is. 4/5
9. James Hendrix (StepBrothers)
Not bad, nice lyrics and ok-ish beat. But fades away
in the end and not noteworhty enough. 3.5/5
10. Late For The Sky
Liking this beat more than the rest, but again the flows
and overall delivery kinda bore.
11. Crash
just ugly in many ways. 1/5
12. Where You From
It's ok and all, but I'm not excited too much. 3/5
13. ...
The Thirteenth Floor...nice thought...
14. To Be Continued...
This beat just makes me wanna eject the disc. 1/5
15. Falling Down
Not feeling this, the word boring comes to mind again 1/5
16. Well Runs Dry
This track made me decide to do this review and peep
out the whole album, helas it's the only great track. 4.5/5
17. The Epilogue
This sums up the album in a nutshell; snoozefest.
Having a hook like this doesn't make for a great song. 2/5
I don't know why this dude is perceived as a great emcee, but he's
not doing it for me. His flow and delivery is just plain boring
and he has shit taste in choosing beats. Overall a waste.
