TECH N9NE - KLUSTERFUK

TECH N9NE
KLUSTERFUK
2012

Wow..simply wow.
This is Tech N9ne at his finest.
I'm so going to look past the fact it's only a 6 track EP.
I can put this on repeat over and over and over...
It is just that amazing. Simply put. Amazing.

1. Klusterfuk
As soon as the beat drops, you know you're in for
a treat with Tech flowin like only he does over a
typical yet awesome Strange Music beat. Sick! 5/5
2. Blur (ft. Wreckonize)
This the only track i had to get used to a little
but if you listen careful and get into the whole vibe,
this is another slumper. Man...4.5/5
3. Can't Stand Me (ft. Krizz Kaliko)
Holy shiznit! Pure genius at work here.
Tech and Krizz together on the hook is insane.
Tech's verses are superb and Kaliko's run at the
end threw me for a loop. Incredible! 5/5
4. Ugly Duckling (ft. Aqualeo)
Another one that sucks you in. Nice verses from
newcomer duo Aqualeo too i must say. The hook sometimes
i really dig, other times i'm iffy about. But still... 4.5/5
5. Akward
Here we go, my favourite by far. It just doesn't
get any better for real.  The beat, Tech's verses and hook
(especially that hook) and not to forget how awesome
it is to have Tech come in for his last verse and not even
rap it, and still you're on his every word every time! 5/5
6. D.K.N.Y. (ft. Krizz Kaliko)
Maybe just maybe i wish this last song was that little bit
more on the vibe of previous tracks, because it does
feel out of place with the beat and flow. But...
This is still a sick track overall, even more when Tech
goes back to his "this ring" days. 4/5

So regardless of this being a 6 track EP, i do put this
on repeat a lot when i feel like it. And i love it. Period.
I couldn't be a bigger fan though, so maybe i'm biased,
but still you can't deny tech n9ne's brilliance...everytime!
Overall Score: 9/10

BIG K.R.I.T. - 4EVA N A DAY

BIG K.R.I.T.
4EVA N A DAY
2012

The best cat in the game doing it right now drops his latest album
(mixtape, whatever, i'm over these dudes not dropping retails)
and once again he killed it. Return Of 4Eva was the best tape
last year and looks like this one will make the top of a
lot of people's lists once more. Dude is so talented, on the
boards and behind the mic. You gotta love him.
Will need to bump quite a few more times but i have to
say this already: "Temptation" is frickin awesome and
a real nice tribute to Memphis rap from back in the day,
at least that's what i'm getting from the beat. Dope!

MESSY MARV - DA NEW FRANK LUKAS

MESSY MARV
DA NEW FRANK LUKAS
DAT NEVA WORE DA MINK COAT
2012

All original tracks and though only 8 tracks long
(why man?) this really feels and sounds like the follow-up
to last year's great Kontraband release.
Anyway, regardless, this album is pretty fuckin dope.
The production is so damn good and one of the best
i've heard in a while. Not sure who the producer is
but his style is top notch and so rich and musical. That alone
makes this a must have. For me Messy even tops it
with his style of rappin and laid back delivery.
I love it. Perfect marriage.
I don't need to do a track by track review here because
it'll be pretty much the same for all. Pretty unusual.
Sick production, Messy killing it on the verses and a laidback approach
for the hooks which make the whole feel complete.
Not sure if this will appeal to everybody, but i'm sold.
Pretty sure anybody into Bay Area or West Coast Rap
would agree to a certain extent though.
1. Intro
2. Block First 5/5
3. 2 Steppin 5/5
4. Want Me To Quit 5/5
5. Life's A Trip 4/5
6. Gon Feel Me 4.5/5
7. All Nite Long 5/5
8. Sosa 5/5
9. You Gotta Pay Me 5/5
Had to add the official video. Love this one.

If only it was twice as long, it would've been
the album to beat this year.
Still, as a fan i'll take anything solid from Messy.
Just loose the Boy Boy name,
nobody calls you that except you man.
Overall Score: 9.5/10

UPCOMING BAY AREA SLAPS

Having just reviewed Too Short & Guce's latest drops,
new Bay Area music is just around the corner and it is looking hella tight.
Messy Marv just dropped his latest, and though he's calling it a 'mixtape',
it's really his next solo joint after the awesome Kontraband. Only 8 tracks
strong but it is so on point...I'll review that one soon.
Here are some joints to look forward to from the best coast doing it.

J. Stalin - The Body Snatchers
The cover alone is pure dopeness, lovin that already.
J been slacking a lil in my opinion but hopefully this
one will be on point like Prenupitual Agreement & Gas Nation.
Lil Rue - Pure Mob
Dude been pretty consistent, this one should be no different
like his previous efforts Stars & Straps or Syrup & Kush.
Messy Marv - The Definition Of Greed
Personally i think Mess is droppin too many of these
compilation albs, but there's been a lot of dope tracks
coming from 'em. As a fan you can't complain.
Messy Marv & Young Doe - AM To The PM
I do love Mess' collabo joints. This one been
gettin some hype and a lot of anticipation.
Let's hope it will live up to all that.
San Quinn - Giants & Elephants Radio Vol. 2
After the Guce & J. Stalin collab, it's up to Quinn to
do the Giants & Elephants thing. Can't wait!

And seriously hyper than a mutha for the 3 new E-40 albs
and the long awaited Too Short/E-40 album!! Yee!
