THE JACKA - THE VERDICT

THE JACKA
THE VERDICT
2012

2nd installment after The Indictment. Boy have I
been waiting for this one. I'm actually glad all three
didn't drop on the same day. Makes it better to truly get into it.
At first i was a little so so on the song choices and type
of tracks here, but so far I have to say it tops the first one overall.

1. The Verdict 1
2. Everyday
Typical Jacka track that provides. Nice little hook
of course and a chill beat/vibe to go with it.  4/5
3. Time Still Tickin ft. Lil Rue
Favourite track of the album. Really tight beat and
Jacka at his best. Lil Rue comes correct aswell. 5/5
4. OMG ft. J. Stalin
Pretty uptempo track, but it works and it's kinda
catchy. J. Stalin adds sum to it. 5/5
5. The Verdict 2
6. The Rain ft. Smigg Dirtee & Vince V
Damn slow track with a cliche hook, but the whole
track is deep and seriously growing on me. 4.5/5
7. Let It Go
Great sample of course and a perfect backdrop for
Jacka's voice and delivery. Sweet track. 5/5
8. Knock Her Down ft. Smigg Dirtee & Lil Rue
Nice little intro instrumental. Had to get used to the
kind of laid back vibe but it grows on you big. 5/5
9. All Around The World ft. J. Stalin
Another favourite. Truly dope song with both Stalin
and Jacka delivering great verses over a dope beat.
The other features are pretty nice aswell. 5/5
10. Here We Are ft. 12 Gauge Shottie
Pretty much tied for favourite track of the alb. Jacka's
hook over that string sampled beat is just fire. 5/5
11. They Need That Mob Shit ft. Cellski & Stevie Joe
Only hard song on the album, which goes against the
whole overall feeling of the album but it's great.
Jacka's hook as a contrast is dope. Cellski takes it
away and Stevie Joe is his usual grimey self. 5/5
12. The Verdict 3
13. Imma King ft. Game
Game? Really? Had to get used to it, especialy with
the la la chant going on and the pretty basic hook.
After a while though, it grows on you and you take it
for what it is. A nice little track, nothing more, nothing
less. Wish it was a harder track though. 3.5/5

Again, as is the case with The Indictment, this is
just way too short having just 10 tracks. Luckily
when having bumped the whole album front to back
and a repeat or two, you do feel satisfied and it
feels like a complete album. I really Can't wait for
The Sentence, but I'm pretty sure it'll complete this
truly awesome trilogy release.
One last thing maybe, i would love to have had
some Mob Figaz features here. Rydah J, Fed X,
AP.9, Husalah. Oh well...
Overall Score: 9.5/10
